Le film suit Leonard, un tailleur anglais qui confectionnait des costumes sur le célèbre Savile Row de Londres. Mais après une tragédie personnelle, il s’est retrouvé à Chicago, gérant une petite boutique de tailleur dans un quartier difficile de la ville où il confectionne de beaux vêtements pour les seules personnes autour qui peuvent se les offrir : une famille de gangsters vicieux.
